What this site is
Rama Encore Stays is an independent guide written for people who are going north for a show, a dinner or a quiet night by the lake and want to know what the hotel actually offers before they book. It is not the resort's website. Every number on these pages comes from the resort's own pages or from a named secondary source, and each page lists the sources it used. Where the resort's pages disagree with each other — and on a few points they do — we say so rather than picking the more flattering figure.
The hotel is a 292-suite, all-suite building attached to the casino and the Entertainment Centre at 5899 Rama Road, Rama, Ontario. It is operated by Gateway Casinos & Entertainment with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and Rama First Nation as partners, and the resort marks its 30th year in 2026. The resort describes the rooms as newly renovated after a refurbishment that started in late 2024.
Why sleep here instead of driving back
Shows at the Entertainment Centre typically start at 8 PM, or 9 PM on Fridays, with doors an hour earlier. Add an encore and the crowd at the exits, and a night-time drive down Highway 11 and Highway 400 to the city easily ends after one in the morning. A suite upstairs turns that into a ten-minute walk through the building. The other reason is the morning: breakfast at The Weirs in the lobby from 7 AM, the saltwater pool on the third floor from 7 AM, the new spa on the main floor from 10 AM, and an 11 AM check-out that leaves time for a walk in Orillia before the drive.
Our short verdict
For a show night, the hotel does its job well: the suites are large by the standard of casino hotels, every Deluxe Suite has a gas fireplace and a living area, parking is free and the hall is under the same roof. The weaker points are the ones guests mention on public review sites — value for money and the resort fee — and the fact that the resort publishes no room sizes and no view categories, so you cannot ask for a lake view and expect a guarantee. Our full reasoning is in the review, and the public ratings are summarised on guest ratings.
How the request desk works
The form at the bottom of every page goes to our booking desk, not to the resort. We read the dates and the show you are going to, check what the resort or a booking partner can offer, and reply by email with the options and the conditions that apply — including the resort fee and the cancellation rule. Nothing is booked until you confirm, and we never ask for a card in the form. If the booking goes ahead we are paid a commission by the resort or by the booking partner; you do not pay more for asking. The details are on how we earn.

Ask our desk to hold a room for your show night
Tell us the night, the show if there is one, and how many of you are coming. We check what the resort can offer for those dates and write back with options. No card is needed to ask.
How we are paid: if a room request you send here becomes a confirmed stay, the resort or the booking partner that completes it pays us a commission. Asking costs you nothing and never raises the rate.
